21 Jun An evening divine assignment in JB’s KSL pasar malam

We were in JB for family get-together with Cheong family.

This evening we were visiting the Pasar Malam beside KSL Mall. I walked past a lady sitting on the floor asking for money and gave 5rm. I walked past another man on the floor sometime later and asked my son to give 5rm. On the return I walked past the first lady and Holy Spirit stopped me and brought my attention back to this lady. I slowed down my steps and stood a few meters away processing what Holy Spirit wanted me to do/say while observing the lady. This lady has a very severe burn and one side of her face is melted away including 1 ear and part of her hair.

I knew that God wanted to take care of her spiritual needs. 

I stood thinking of what to do and waited for opportunity. After some time, I didn’t find good opportunity to approach so I walked on first while still processing with Holy Spirit. I caught up with my wife and as we walk back towards the lady again, my wife told me what just happened on her side.

Separately, my wife earlier walked past this same lady and when she opened her wallet, God told wife to give 50rm, she hesitated a little but obeyed and gave the money and told her that God loves her. 

When wife told me this separate event, I knew clearly God is working something for this particular lady in this particular place at this particular time and we have assignment on hand. So I quickly but briefly updated my wife and stayed more focused on Holy Spirit’s leading. 

At this moment the lady had packed up and walked past us. I followed behind her. We walked almost to the end of the road and I still had no open window to speak to her. I was about to stop following at a road crossing but Holy Spirit didn’t let me stop so I crossed the road and continue following her. Soon after she went into a kopitiam and I settled down at a table observing and discussing with Holy Spirit. 

I saw that she began going to each table to ask for money. So I told God that, ok maybe bring her over to my table and I will share the gospel with her. When she is nearer to my table, I began praying in case the enemy tries to mess things up. Right after that she walked over and I signaled her over and invited her to sit down. Wife was with me at table. She hesitated but finally sat down. 

I asked her about her belief in God and Jesus Christ. She said she had heard of God and Jesus. I think she was saying she went to Christian school (this part im not very sure I understood her correctly.) I proceeded to share the gospel clearly with her. I encourage her to turn to Jesus Christ whenever she needed help in this world and that whoever believes in Jesus as Saviour would be in the presence of God when we pass on, where there is no tears and hunger.

She acknowledged, we chatted a little more and she left.

God’s work is always amazing. 2 Singaporeans living in Indonesia came for jalan-jalan in Johor and God gave an assignment to take care of this lady financially (though small amount) and spiritually (the most important because it’s of eternal consequences).
