01 Jan Living According To Today, This Lifetime And Eternity

Making decisions, dealing with challenges and living life according to these 3 time horizons; namely today, this lifetime and eternity; puts things in proper perspective.

Today:

Matthew 6:34 says “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” In Luke 12:13-21, Jesus told us the parable of the rich fool. Jesus says “You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you.” Indeed we need to live for today because we do not know what will happen tomorrow. We do not know if our life will be demanded from us tomorrow.

This lifetime:

We need to balance the “YOLO” mindset with a stewardship mindset for this lifetime.

Eternity:

Human souls exists in eternity. We need to live with this time horizon in mind.
