Productivity And Efficiency : Intimacy And Security

Devotional series on Chairmanship of Jesus

This devotional series is for disciples who are starting organisations or are given organisations to steward. Our heart is for more businesses and organisations to be consecrated unto the Lord Jesus Christ. Imagine a world where (at an extreme) all businesses are built upon the Word of God and empowered by the leading of the Holy Spirit. The world would likely look very different.

Devotion:

Business schools, management books and conventional business norms has deeply ingrained in us what productivity and efficiency looks like. From the industrial age where production lines increased productivity and efficiency, to popular “hacks” to increase personal productivity and efficiency. Entrepreneurs, business owners and organisation leaders come under even more pressure to improve individual and corporate productivity and efficiency.

How does our Abba Father Chairman view productivity and efficiency?

Sometimes when we hustle and bustle and focus on working hard and smart to achieve better productivity and efficiency, it is due to our fear of the unknown future, a fear of missing out and losing out. Our security is on our productivity and efficiency, the works of our hand and a reliance on ourselves.

Productivity and efficiency in the Kingdom start with our security on Jesus Christ. We work unto the Lord but our security for the future lies in and with the Lord.
Such productivity and efficiency built deep on the cornerstone is stable and the most productive and efficient.

Scripture:

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10)

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:7-8)

“‘If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, 4 I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit. (Leviticus 26:3-4)

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) [if productivity is abundance]

Luke 6:47-48 (NKJV) Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like:
He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. [mirror verse of John 15:5]
